Solutions Architect

ICF is looking for a Solutions Architect to support our public sector clients.

Our Public Sector Group (PSG) is growing, and we are looking for a talented, highly motivated Solutions Architect to join ICF’s Digital Modernization Division.  You will be responsible for helping government clients execute their most complex digital transformation projects. You will solve complex technical problems in a fast paced, collaborative, and inclusive delivery environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Translate business needs into solution architecture requirements

  • Estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives

  • Define multiple solution options to business problems

  • Quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new and emerging technologies

  • Fundamental knowledgeable in all aspects of solutions architecture and security

  • Apply and generate best practices in multiple technical domains using various technology products and services

  • Ensure solutions are developed and packaged in an easily consumable and repeatable way for customers and internal technical teams

  • Capture and share best practice knowledge with the internal technical teams

  • Assume the role technology advisor that understands customer business processes and maps them to technology solutions to optimize business outcomes

  • Design, build and interact with APIs on multiple cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and/or GCP

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in leading and architecting enterprise software systems

  • 10+ years of experience with building web-based enterprise systems

  •  3+ years of experience in building and deploying applications to cloud platforms.

  • 2+ years of experience implementing IaC using tools such as Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform

  • Certified AWS or GCP, Azure, or other cloud, or ready to get certified

  • 2 + years of experience with programming languages and platforms such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js , Angular and React

  • 2 + years of experience with SQL and database development and migration

  • Familiarity with the U.S. Government’s Authority to Operate (ATO) process

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to influence and achieve results through effective negotiations and problem solving.

  • 3 or more years of working for contracts for the Federal government and/or state and local governments.

  • US Citizen or Permanent Lawful Resident (Green Card Holder) preferred

  • Employment must be compliant with eligibility for Public Trust Clearance

What we'd like you to have:

  • Experience designing data centric cloud-based solutions

  • Experience crafting solution strategies and architecture roadmaps

  • Experience with working in Agile and Scaled Agile teams

  • Experience and application of Best practices microservices architecture, automated testing

  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect

  • Experience conducting and leading interviews to gather and validate requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in a client interaction context and in facilitating large team meetings to drive delivery

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment, with a client-centric culture, and an environment of high performers. 

  • Work effectively with numerous stakeholder types and bring a group to consensus. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and within one or more teams with excellent time management, organizational, and reporting skills
