Software Developer Environmental Consulting
Pacific Northwest/Western US (Report to Portland Office)

ICF is seeking a passionate Software Developer with at least 1-5 years’ experience (educational experience can substitute) who is ready to strengthen our growing team. Learn from and share your skills with others in a collaborative environment. Utilize new technology that interests you with project opportunities for greenfield development.
This role presents you with the opportunity for innovative project work for a diverse clientele, developing solutions across a variety of disciplines including climate adaptation, health and equity, disaster management, species recovery, environmental restoration, and transportation planning. Primary responsibilities will include the build out and maintenance of full stack web mapping applications, data driven dashboards, and modeling software. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment with data scientists, designers, biologists, conservation planners, archaeologists, and transportation experts. You will join our analytical team which includes software developers, data modelers, and geographic information system specialists. This will afford you the opportunity to broaden and enhance your existing skill set as well as train others in a collaborative environment, implementing technology that interests and excites you!
Location preference is for the Pacific Northwest however those in other locations are encouraged to apply as this is a remote opportunity.
What You Must Have
Full Stack Development experience including; Azure Cloud Services or similar, SQL Databases, Developing and integrating with REST APIs, Node JS and, Frontend Frameworks such as React or NextJS
Ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external clients to determine project needs
Desire to peer program and actively share knowledge via group dev talks
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
What We’d Like You To Have
Experience with any of the following: AWS, Docker, Git, Webpack, npm, Sass, Python, R, C#, Angular, Express.js
Degree in Computer Science or coding bootcamp certificate
Familiarity with web mapping libraries such as Mapbox, Carto, leaflet, ESRI or Google
Experience developing data driven dashboards
An eye for clean UI Design and understanding of UX principles (atomic design and component driven design)
