Small Business Partner Advocate
ICF seeks a Small Business Partner Advocate to expand ICF’s position as a strong advocate for small business within the Washington, D.C. community & Federal space. This individual will help bolster and sustain ICF brand as a community and small business advocate, and will drive growth in revenue and market share through mutually beneficial commercial partnerships with leading small business entities. This individual will work with our various business & corporate leaders to provide strategy, advocacy, and market access that raises P-win, mitigates market risks, and drives revenues. This candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, be externally focused, driven, passionate, highly organized, and will be able to work autonomously in a highly collaborative culture, and possess great verbal and written communication abilities.
This role can be located either in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. metro areas or REMOTE.
As a Small Business Partner Advocate, you will:
Build, sustain, monetize relationships with strategic small businesses across our priority markets:
Identify potential new partners in priority market areas
Monetize/enable relationships to bid and win engagements especially on vehicles we have won as a Joint Venture (JV)
Promote and triage Small Business (SB) partners across Public Sector Group (PSG) enterprise to include Divisions, LOBs, account leads, capture leaders, portfolio lead and other growth leaders
Participate in Small Business outreach events organized by clients such as GSA and DHS
Attend trade shows and deliver speaking engagements
Working with ICF Marketing to build and promote ICF brand.
Dashboard ICF’s small business partnerships and experiences:
Track ICF’s small business prime and sub partners by market and Line of Business (LOB)
Identify those partners that perform well in prime and sub roles.
Support/inform ICF led critical bids:
Assist capture managers and proposal leads in identifying SBs for prime and sub roles.
Manage day-to-day JV & drive strategy and activity:
Build, sustain and drive pipeline for JV in partnership with broader PSG leadership
Seamless work with ICF’s contracts and Legal teams as appropriate
Manage JV administration and reporting
Work with LOBs and PS Growth to identify market spaces and potential companies for new JVs
Manage relationship with Small Business Administration (SBA)
Assess RFPs on SB vehicles of interest and across GWACS:
RFPs on our vehicles with the JV
RFPs received via partners.
5+ years of prior Federal experience either in a growth, capture or business development environment or in a consulting environment
2-5 years’ experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
1+ year(s’) experience using MS Teams and SharePoint
3+ years’ experience utilizing Federal data sources to conduct qualitative research
Ability to travel to trade shows, speaking engagements and Small Business outreach events
Experience with the business development process
Experience consulting with Federal or state/local government and familiarity with government contracting
Demonstrated experience with managing SBA relationships
Business Development & sales experience in a large Federal contractor
Time management skills; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment balancing competing deadlines and requests
Critical thinking and analytical thinking skills
Attention to detail.
