ICF seeks senior wildlife biologist/wetland scientists for our Austin, Texas, office. Based on the location of field work local candidates are preferred.

What You Will Do

Lead and perform plant and wildlife habitat assessments/surveys, wetland delineations and functional assessments, assess impacts, and prepare technical reports, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 404/10 permit applications, and mitigation plans, and assist with agency/permit coordination. Conduct field work in remote locations. Projects include the Energy, Transportation, Water and Planning and Development markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, or related field.

  • 6+ years relevant professional work experience including skills with plant and wildlife surveys, wetland delineations and functional assessments (preferably in Texas), impact and permit assessments, preparation of technical reports, USACE 404/10 permit applications, and mitigation plans, and compliance with the Endangered Species Act and Clean Water Act.

Additional Skills

  • Must be able to compose technical reports from the results of field investigations. Must recognize importance of consistent procedures and protocols.

  • Experience with GPS technologies required.

  • Computer skills should include the MS Office Suite.

  • Certification as a Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB) and/or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) a plus
