We are currently hiring a Senior User Experience (UX) Manager. ICF Next has a broad, cross-industry client portfolio, and you will have the opportunity to work with many of the top Fortune 500 brands.
The Team
We have an exciting opportunity for an Experience Design leader who wants a key role shaping and growing our expanding UX team. Reporting directly to our head of Customer Strategy, Experience, and Insights, the Senior UX Manager will direct the work efforts of 2-5 UX/UI designers across multiple projects.
The Work
You will coach others in core UX tasks, including requirements gathering workshops, user research and analysis, design reviews of current-state systems and applications, and wireframes and mockups. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will routinely consult with our agile development teams to ensure design principles are incorporated into agile development sprints. The successful candidate will have extensive, practical experience managing a team of UI/UX designers, while also being the “go-to” person in our organization for best practices and emerging trends in user experience design.
Candidates who can be based out of ICF Next’s office in Toronto, Chicago, or Minneapolis are strongly preferred, but we are also open to REMOTE candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate UX/UI design resources across multiple digital design projects
Oversee the work product of the team to ensure quality delivery and successful application of user-centered design principles
Accurately define, scope and staff complex web and application design projects
Facilitate requirements gathering with senior-level clients to understand their business goals and objectives, and establish key design tenets
Conduct design reviews of existing systems and applications
Conduct user research and create user journey maps
Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
Translate requirements into style guides, design patterns, and easy to use interfaces
Collaborate with architects, developers, and project teams to ensure design elements are incorporated into development sprints
Conceptualize, design, and implement consistent branding or styling, as well as document and maintain standards
Conduct usability and concept testing prior to implementation
Actively coach and grow our UX team while shaping team culture
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of UX/UI design experience (with at least 3-5 years in management)
Practical experience with Human-Centered Design techniques
Extensive experience conducting user research (both generative and evaluative)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple parallel projects at once
Wireframing and UI Prototyping for multi-screen sized experiences
Experience with conducting user testing to prove design solutions
Hands-on knowledge working within an Agile User Experience environment
Familiar with online collaboration tools such as Mural and InVision
Experience with wireframing and mockup tools (Figma preferred)
Experience working within top content management systems (Adobe AEM preferred)
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (in experience design, communications or related field) preferred
