The role

Our consultants are the changemakers at the heart of our work. Blending creative and strategy, you will design and deliver communication and engagement strategies that solve our clients’ people needs. Promoting excellence and expertise at every opportunity, our consultants are relationship-orientated with an appetite to develop close connections with senior stakeholders internally and externally, all the while, acting as evangelists for innovative thinking that helps ICF Next to grow.

Within our Employee Practice, we advise clients on how they deepen and accelerate their people strategies and combine that with creative storytelling, leadership development, intervention design, employee experiences and creative design. Our strength is in our ability to work ‘end to end’ with our clients – from innovation workshops through to project delivery.

We are unique in our ability to blend Strategy, Brand and Marketing, Communiciations, HR and Transformation together in our work, which is being further accelerated by our passion in shaping the Future of Work for our clients, including persona development, communication infrastructure, leader coaching, data and analytics, culture, employee propositions and purpose/values adoption.

On a practical level, you will work laterally across our business, leading our strategy and advisary work – focused on engaging employee audiences in change and transformations – workin with creative teams that bring creative direction, content, programme management, digital, live events and film. Together, you will create plans, interventions, campaigns and ideas that are industry leading and deliver our clients’ goals.

Our Employee Practice

We work with clients from a range of industries including retail, finance, travel, aviation, energy, government, telco and automotive.

Our employee practice has deep expertise within three propositions:

Strategy and Transformation – Change is an ever dominant in our day-to-day reality. We help clients deepen levels of commitment and advocacy through participation, drive transformation through new employee experiences and embed new strategy and ambition for sustained success. Our work ranges from launching new strategies, to mergers, acquisitions and cultural integration to engagement workstream design.

Leadership and Culture – Fundamental to the success of any business is the strength of its leaders. We enable CEOs, boards, leaders and their teams to grow and develop in line with their cultural, structural and strategic ambitions.
Communications, Engagement and Experience – We work with HR, Communciation and Corporate Affairs leaders to build compelling long term communication and engagement strategies and campaigns that cut through the noise and drive behaviour change.

Main responsibilities:

We are looking for someone who has the background, expertise and ambition to hit the ground running with clients. We are especially looking for people who have a strong background in designing communication and engagement strategies/campaigns for business transformations and understand the behavioural side of people change (and how to create impact).

Location: ICF is embracing hybrid working arrangements– this role will be located in our London office and remotely.

This role will require:

Strategy development and implementation

  • Collaboratively work within cross-functional project teams of design strategists, creatives and consultants to deliver strategic solutions, from cross-channel engagement frameworks to individual campaign strategies and plans
  • Critically approach client problems, challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities to push clients further to meet their needs and exceed expectations
  • Be able to work audience-back,planning, understanding and articulating where clients can achieve greatest impact and how to build sustainable and long-standing engagement
  • Use your knowledge of people behaviour, change and transformation and business strategy effectively to guide our ideas and approach
  • Use data and insights to inform audience segments, campaign targeting and personalisation
  • Work with creative, content and production specialists to see strategies and campaigns through to implementation, including input into development of compelling stories and client presentations, the overall campaign look and feel, campaign narrative, content, copy and assets, and ongoing QA

Project planning, management and delivery

  • Take and interpret briefs from clients, and develop client brief playbacks
  • Work with project managers to oversee the development of project plans, resourcing and budgeting
  • Take responsibility for delivering relevant elements of the project plan to time and budget
  • Work with project managers to brief internal creative teams, providing quality assurance and translating into client-facing material e.g. contextualising creative outputs for client presentation

Client relationship management

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels (and their agencies/suppliers where relevant)
  • Have confidence interacting with clients at Director and Executive levels.
  • Work with account managers to ensure consistent client satisfaction with deliverables and outcomes
  • Act as the key client strategy contact, when appropriate
  • Analyse individual client needs in order to deliver appropriate and tailored solutions
  • Demonstrate understanding of audience engagement and digital communications trends

Business development and account growth

  • Use your knowledge in engagement and communications to inform client work and help identify new opportunities with existing and prospect clients/stakeholders
  • Collaboratively develop and contribute to proposals and pitches in response to briefs and RFPs

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in communication strategy, employee engagement and change management
  • Previous experience developing engagement strategies for a variety of employee audiences –colleagues and/or citizens – gained within an agency or consultancy OR multi-organisational experience with an appetite to embrace a consulting environment
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas, grasping not only the detail but able to contextualise
  • Ability to carry out more than one project type (at a time) and adapt to changing environments
  • Experience leading others; internal stakeholders, small teams and individuals with different expertise and experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
