ICF’s Digitial Modernization Division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology department seeking a Senior Java Engineer to support upcoming needs with our federal customers.

As we continue to expand our services and to support this growth, we are looking for Software Engineers to join our Digital Modernization Division (DMD). In addition, we provide technical assistance services to US Civilian Federal Agencies and their partners, such as the Department of Health and Human Services, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The Work
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about helping large government agencies modernize and transform through pragmatic enterprise strategies. The projects and services supporting the CDC meet the agency's Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) objectives. The software engineer will participate in the full lifecycle development of modifications to large, complex, mission-critical enterprise applications, work with technical leads to develop and enforce standards, collaborate with a 4–6-person development team, and follow solutions as they are developed through production deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the full software development life cycle (design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation)
Contribute towards design and overall architecture of applications
Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications
Adhere to coding standards and best practices
Peer review team members’ development and share constructive criticism
Work as part of an agile scrum team and deliver in a timely manner
Learn and adopt new technologies in a short period of time as required
Participate in scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, story point estimation, and sprint planning
Required Skills and Experience
Front End
4-5 years of total technical experience
2+ years of experience as a front-end developer in Angular
2+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX
2+ years of experience of solid understanding of HTTP protocols and REST API
2+ years of experience with browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques
2+ years of experience with responsive and adaptive design
2+ years of experience with angular unit testing
Back End
2+ years of Java expertise
2+ years of experience with the Spring Framework and Spring Boot
2+ years of experience with Hibernate or some other ORM; ODBC, JDBC
2+ years of experience with Maven
2+ years of experience with unit testing with JUnit or similar framework
2+ years of experience of common data structures and algorithm
Infrastructure/Process
1+ years of experience with Git and branching/merging techniques
1+ years of experience with CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket
1+ years of experience with unit testing via JUnit or similar framework
1+ years of experience working with JIRA and understanding Agile/Scrum/SAFE development methodology
Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust clearance.
US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to federal contract requirements.
MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$82,673.00 - $140,544.00
