Senior Product Manager

ICF is looking for a Senior Product Manager to support our delivery of technology and services for commercial energy clients to support electrification and energy efficiency programs. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for owning and advocating for products that positively impact the mission of our commercial energy clients and achieve the outcomes our clients need.

Product Managers at ICF are the curators and stewards of the product vision throughout the delivery process. They engage with their teammates and counterparts on the client side to make sure key stakeholders feel informed and heard, right-sized decisions are made at the right time throughout the process, and the products we build make a positive difference to end users and the organizations we serve. This is a dynamic senior consultant position, wearing different hats and communication styles in different settings to achieve key product delivery outcomes: teammate or leader, collaborator or visionary, listener, or coach.

What you will be doing:

In this role you will uncover, articulate, and realize the needs and goals of products/solutions in a growing utility business.  The ideal candidate must be comfortable creating a product hypothesis and seeing it through to delivery. 

  • Collaborate with a variety of internal and external experts, facilitate conversations around technology, user experience, and business rules to build shared understanding and streamline decision points
  • Generate clear and compelling artifacts to explain the product vision, process, and requirements
  • Leverage both qualitative and quantitative thinking: able to use a variety of tools and techniques to shape decisions and adjust to feedback and new inputs
  • Actively communicate with stakeholders to understand and define priorities
  • Articulate a product vision to the market through conference presentations, webinars, and other thought leadership
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities
  • Advocate for outcomes that matter most, and help the team identify a path to achieve them. Create and maintain meaningful roadmaps and plans.
  • Comfortable working alongside clients serving as Product Owners, Business Owners, and SMEs in varying levels of involvement and influence over the product, while ensuring the ICF team has the level of information they need to make progress toward the outcomes
  • Team player with excellent problem-solving and consensus-building skills. Fosters a culture of creativity, collaboration, innovation, honesty, and best ideas forward

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  •  Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of professional experience in a digital delivery role
  • 13+ years of professional experience in a digital delivery role
  • 4+ years direct product management or product strategy experience
  • Experience in utility consulting/product management (e.g. in the areas of energy efficiency, peak load management, decarbonization, and beneficial electrification) is highly desirable.

What we would like you to have:

  • Professional experience leading workshops that employ human-centered design or design thinking techniques such as research synthesis and generative brainstorming that result in guiding artifacts such as personas, journey maps, product canvases, story maps
  • Experienced in scoping, wireframing, designing, and developing product prototypes using tools such as Miro, Mural, and Figma to test hypotheses and enable lean product development approaches
  • Working knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Working knowledge of product management and strategy frameworks and techniques
  • Product management training or certifications are a plus (e.g. SAFe POPM, Pragmatic)
  • Have worked on teams that employ a design system and conduct user research that informs product vision and strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with collaboration and tracking tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience working with remote teams is a plus
