Power BI Specialist
Job Description:
We are hiring for a Senior Power BI Specialist to work in our Flexible Load Management (FLM) Analytics practice. As a Power BI specialist within the team, you will be responsible for creating Power BI visualization of outputs to meet project needs and to design and automate the integration of in-house model outputs into Power BI interfaces. You will part of the FLM Analytics team that is a powerhouse of analytical capabilities. We support utilities and/or government agencies boost their FLM programs to meet the demands of the future. As part of your role, you will have an opportunity to apply your prior industry experience, gain exposure to major projects, interact with experts and clients in the field, and develop/enhance your consulting skills to complement your Power BI visualization skills.

The FLM Analytics team is a leader in US Utility DER space. Our ability to connect the implementation experience and deep domain expertise with advanced analytics, allows us to help utilities plan, design and implement best-in-class FLM programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of internal- and external-facing Power BI dashboards and interactive visual reports
- Design and deploy Power BI scripts that aid decision making, with capabilities of performing detailed analytics built-in
- Write efficient DAX queries on-demand to customize visuals and to calculate Key Performance Indices, as per project needs
- Prepare design methodologies and project documentation
- Work with project managers to present dashboards as part of client deliverables and for marketing/business development
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of project working experience on Microsoft Power BI
- Hands-on professional with thorough knowledge of scripting, data source integration and advanced visual development in Power BI
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including programming experience in writing DAX queries
- Strong writing and communication skills
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Exposure to data and dashboard development in the energy domain
- Strong experience working with cloud-based computing services such as Azure
- A deep understanding of, and ability to use and explain all aspects of, relational database design, multidimensional database design, OLTP, OLAP, KPIs, Scorecards, and Dashboards.
- Good understanding of the processes of data quality, data cleansing and data transformation. Upload of Power BI reports to Power BI online service, implement security and audit.
