Do you have experience in utility distribution system planning and operations, distributed energy resource (DER) technologies, and DER integration? Our Advisory Services practice is hiring a motivated Manager interested in helping grow our practice!
Our work is focused on supporting the integration of DER into the planning and operation of the electric grid. Working with a diverse team, your role will be to manage the continued development of ICF’s DER technical offerings, and to help deliver quality solutions to our clients’ distribution planning and operational challenges. You will plan, market, sell, and deliver innovative, best-in-class consulting services in the power sector with a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach that integrates strategic and technical advisory services to our clients. You will build and deliver a portfolio of work helping electric utilities to make strategic and investment decisions in areas including grid-modernization, electrification, and decarbonization. As part of your role, you will manage consulting assignments and support all levels of project staff, with direct responsibility for project management, client contact, and business growth.
This is a full-time position, and we are ready to hire immediately. Location is flexible. This is a consulting position with expectations for travel and on-site client support once it is safe to do so.
What you will do:
Quantitative and economic analysis, policy and regulatory research and support, and technical analysis focused on DER such as solar PV, energy storage, demand response, and electric vehicles in the context of distribution system analysis.
Lead, coach, and share best practices with other ICF colleagues.
Work closely with our practice leads and our marketing function to support the continued development of ICF’s DER service offerings.
Leverage knowledge of DER analytics in the management of technical consulting assignments, including outlining and drafting deliverables, managing the budget, and directing project staff.
Establish yourself as a thought leader through external publications and presentations that showcase ICF’s technical leadership.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or related disciplines.
10+ years of related energy industry experience.
Project management experience with multidisciplinary teams.
Direct experience working with electric distribution utilities.
Master’s Degree in Engineering.
Experience working for or with an electric utility.
Prior consulting/commercial project management experience.
Technical expertise in areas such as smart inverters, electric vehicle integration and distributed energy resource integration
Team management and building experience
Experience with complex stakeholder engagement processes.
Understanding of power system analysis and/or financial analysis tools and methods.
Demonstrable experience in utility planning and/or operations, including regulatory filings and/or testimony.
