Job Description

To support our growth, we seek an experienced Energy Markets Consultant to provide advisory services to the energy/utilities industry. Assist organizations in improving their performance through the assessment, identification and implementation of strategic planning and goals. Incumbents advise clients in areas such as corporate strategy, business unit strategy, customer & marketing strategy, growth, and innovation. Services also include the development and review of financial business plans including potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

As a Senior Energy Markets Consultant, you will: 

• Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets, using commercial model frameworks. 
• Collaborate with team to develop and enhance ICF proprietary models and databases. 
• Evaluate the impact of future market trends and regulations and support the development of client strategies to manage change. 
• Be responsible for performing analysis for corporate and government client deliverables. 
• Support sales and client development efforts with market research, proposal development and thought leadership. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Energy Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related quantitative focused subjects.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Energy industry experience
• Advanced ability to perform quantitative analysis.
• Basic knowledge of R, Python and/or other coding languages
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access)

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

• Power market experience
• Knowledge of linear optimization / production cost models / applied microeconomics is an advantage · Previous consulting experience.
• Strong modeling skills specifically advanced Microsoft excel skill. 
• Powerflow simulation using PSLF/TARA/PowerWorld/PSSE
• PROMOD/AURORA/Plexos or similar production cost modeling

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$85,679.00 - $145,654.00
