We are the Environment & Planning Division of ICF. We maintain a large practice in Habitat Conservation Planning and Implementation. Our staff are dedicated to providing the full range of services necessary for integrated habitat conservation planning, from development to implementation of habitat conservation plans (HCPs) and related projects. Our practice is unique in the country for the depth and breadth of our experience and for our national leadership in training and education. Our staff work in Endangered Species Act (ESA) compliance, HCP preparation, HCP implementation, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance for HCPs.
The ICF Habitat Conservation Planning and Implementation practice is currently seeking a Senior Conservation Planner with education and experience in biology, environmental impact analysis, regulatory compliance or permitting (ESA, Clean Water Act), planning, and project management to support our HCP, ESA, and NEPA work. This position provides the opportunity for the candidate to work remotely, or they may choose to work in a US-based office on a hybrid schedule. Job Description
The Senior Conservation Planner will provide technical input, project coordination, and/or project management of natural resource and conservation planning projects including but not limited to technical reports, state and federal environmental permit applications (including development of habitat conservation plans), habitat management plans, and technical studies and sections for NEPA documents. Project management tasks will include developing project work plans and conducting and/or overseeing supporting technical analyses. Site visits and field work may also be required. The position may also include assisting with business development efforts to help expand ICF’s conservation planning work within the United States.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology, or related field. MS or PhD preferred.
7 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field with a focus on ESA, NEPA, and environmental compliance; with at least 4 years of experience in a project management or management support role; education equivalents, including advanced degrees will be considered.
Additional Skills
Experience working with private, public sector clients, and regulatory agencies.
Experience with establishment and management of project scopes, schedules and budgets, including, contracting invoicing, and client communications.
Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$82,673.00 - $140,544.00
