Senior Agile Technical Project Manager

ICF is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to support a large, business analysis and management support services contract. Join our 50+ person team and help us lead IT infrastructure and modernization initiatives for our client. This position is based on client site in Arlington, VA (remotely during COVID-19).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing complex project management support to a federal CIO Project Management Office.
  • Working closely with project teams to identify project deficiencies, provide recommendations and assist with establishing mitigation plans. 
  • Working in multiple roles (technical SME, portfolio and project analyst, governance support) to achieve the overall TO objectives.
  • Utilizing expertise in business management practices and industry requirements in order to provide highly technical and specialized guidance concerning IT solutions to complex information processing problems.
  • Independently performs analysis and studies, prepares reports and gives presentations, and assists in the development of strategies and plans for the successful completion of large complex projects.
  • Conducting detail-oriented business and technical analysis to discover, refine, and document the requirements for technically-oriented projects.
  • Identifying potential risks and issues, designing mitigation tactics, and implementing solutions to mitigate any anticipated problems.
  • In collaboration with the support team and client(s), resolving unique systems problems, accomplishing tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints, and may serve as a technical authority for a particular task area.

What you’ll need:

  • Master’s Degree in information technology or related field of study.
  • 10 years of overall IT/consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in using project management tools (ServiceNow ITBM, ServiceNow PPM, Microsoft Teams Foundation Server) and techniques to develop project plans for software development projects.
  • Experience developing and managing plans, and providing technical oversight, for the entire systems development lifecycle including, but not limited to: corporate strategic planning; analysis and design; software and development; cost and schedule estimation; use of accepted software engineering practices; design techniques and tools; and review of legacy systems.
  • Direct experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experienced in developing reports and briefs for senior executive independently. Being a self-starter and self-motivated to complete the task.
  • Customer- and relationship-focused, process-driven, metric-focused, results-oriented, organized, and self-directed.
  • Ability to pass a federal agency check
  • US citizenship required due to government contract

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • ServiceNow Project Portfolio Management (PPM) certification.
  • Experience working in an Agile project management environment.
  • Team player with the flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including experience with developing and delivering presentations.
  • Solid computer skills with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Teams) and project management software.
  • Tableau, Microsoft Power BI or other similar dashboard tool experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Microsoft Excel 2016 including developing Excel Macros, and Microsoft SharePoint Server
  • Experience with SharePoint web parts
  • Experience with 2012+ MS SQL Server development
  • Experience with MS Visual Studio
