Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting and Special Projects - Work from Home / Remote

ICF International seeks a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting and Special Projects to assist with the preparation of our quarterly and annual filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and supporting the global accounting team in the ICF Forward transformation initiatives.  This position will report to the Director of Accounting Operations, and the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of current U.S. GAAP, an ability to research complex technical accounting topics, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and can work independently and follow up on action items.

Candidates located near our headquarters office in Fairfax, VA are preferred, but we are also open to remote candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of the financial statements and footnote disclosures for ICF’s Form 10-Ks and Form 10-Qs. 

  • Assist in gathering information to include in the Annual and Quarterly Reports

  • Assist in the review of XBRL tags

  • Support preparation of tie-out binders to support all fillings

  • Assist in gathering of quarterly SOX Sub-Certifications to support CEO and CFO certification of quarterly and annual financial reports

  • Assist in the valuation and expense recognition of stock-based compensation. Prepares journal entries and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts

  • Assist in technical accounting research related to unique and/or complex transactions

  • Collaborate with others in ICF group to support ICF Forward transformation efforts and system upgrades  

  • Support ongoing internal process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting systems and processes and drive related efficiencies throughout the company

  • Support due diligence and integration efforts associated with the accounting function of Target companies

  • Provide support on various special projects as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting

  • 6+ years of experience with accounting and financial reporting

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Office, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • SEC Reporting experience

  • Familiarity with Active Disclosure is a plus

  • CPA

  • Accounting experience in a multi-country-currency.

  • Experience with CostPoint and Cognos.

  • Ability to write and document a process.
