Research Program Assistant (Hybrid)

ICF is actively recruiting for a Research Program Assistant to provide support for several research and scientific projects. This essential role will assist in strengthening the vitality of science, engineering, and research. This position will help to support research and education on the mathematical, scientific, and technological foundations of computing, information, and communications.
This role will be based in Northern Virginia and has a hybrid work schedule which will require work on-site at the client location as needed and some remote workdays. This is an opportunity to contribute to important projects from the beginning, working with the latest and emerging technologies, all while building a great career at ICF!
What you will be doing:
- Support program staff, consultants and administrative team in four core programs:
- Algorithmic Foundations
- Communications and Information Foundations
- Foundations of Emerging Technologies
- Software and Hardware Foundations
- Technical and scientific writing/editing
- Assist with site visits.
- Manage and assemble proposal-review panels, generating supporting documents.
- Support the development and deployment of abstracts.
- Manage minutes from technical discussions and proposal discussions, as outlined for in the policies and procedures for specific research.
What you must have:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in scientific and engineering-related fields
- 5 years of experience in managing research projects on a large research team, or experience providing research support to government funded agencies.
What we'd like you to have:
- Experience in running scientific and/or technical related programs.
- Experience with general scientific or research communities (specific IT domain experience not required)
- Project management/proven business acumen in managing complex projects and budgets.
- Background in use-inspired best practices like human-centered design, user-discovery, and research synthesis; as well as an understanding of transition to practice pathways.
- Scripting experience, VBA, Python, preferred.
- Familiarity with research, project, and program management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and efficiently on multiple projects.
- Be a team player who is willing to build out and manage processes internally to promote constant improvement and create successes between various departments.
- Highly proficient and able to automate and innovate with Microsoft Office; specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
- Calendar and schedule management using Outlook.
- Proficient with collaboration tools: Zoom, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Box, Slack and Microsoft SharePoint
- Must have the ability to automate and innovate.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$103,035.00 - $175,160.00
