Renewable Energy Consultant
ICF is seeking an experienced energy consultant to support programs and projects that seek to assess distributed energy resource (DER) technologies, markets, and policies. The consultant should have strong communication skills, exceptional writing capabilities, and experience working with Federal government clients. Successful candidates will support policy analysis, program strategy development, and economic/emissions/resilience modeling of multi-technology DERs and microgrids.
What you will be doing . . .
Assisting with policy and regulatory research and support, quantitative and economic analysis, and technical analysis. Working in fields such as renewable energy, green power, and distributed energy resources – including photovoltaic (PV), energy storage, and combined heat and power (CHP).
Working directly with government entities on public-private partnership programs.
Preparing high quality written and presentation-based deliverables, including communication of methodology and results for technical or policy analysis.
Helping to develop, assess, and implement long-term strategies for government and utility programs to enable emissions savings and resilience benefits of green power and DERs.
Help develop and drive business development strategies in the clean energy, buildings, industrial, and related technical sectors for Federal and other clients.
Serving as a team member and/or manager on multiple project teams, balancing competing project demands and working with staff from interdisciplinary backgrounds.
Corresponding with clients and internal staff through phone, email, video, and in-person communications, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
What you need to have . . .
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (i.e., environmental policy or science)
5+ years relevant experience in energy policy and programs
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Highly-developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Preferred Skills/Experience…
Master’s degree in a related discipline (i.e., environmental policy or science)
Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and policies
Experience as a consultant or contractor for Federal government clients
Experience managing projects or teams
Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills
