Job Description:

The Costpoint - Financial Systems Administrator will administer and provide technical guidance to ensure the successful implementation, ongoing maintenance and continued improvement of the core financial accounting platform (Deltek – Costpoint). The position requires strong IT skills combined with practical experience and a deep understanding of the Costpoint architecture. This is an administrator position within the Corporate IT team and requires excellent project and people management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Financial Systems applications support and DBA teams to ensure the successful delivery of IT related financial project initiatives.
  • Design Financial Systems technical architecture and maintain documentation.
  • Perform comprehensive Costpoint/Time & Expense administration.
  • Ensure financial system uptime and user satisfaction through system monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Monitor servers for opportunities to fine tune and/or expand the environment.
  • Think and plan strategically for long-term system growth and agility.
  • Build and maintain system interfaces and workflows to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain, document, and build Extensibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Costpoint and Time & Expense database tables.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated jobs run through integrations and Deltek Job server.
  • Open tickets with Deltek support to assist with issue resolution.
  • RDP into servers and review performance, services, and log files to aid in troubleshooting
  • Perform Weblogic configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Assign and manage security roles in Costpoint and Time & Expense.
  • Use SQL tools to be able to pull data from databases and review/update scripts provided by Deltek and DBAs.
  • Work with software vendors, particularly Deltek, to ensure prompt application of software updates, patches/hot fixes, and sys jars.
  • Act as technical lead for Costpoint upgrades and issue resolution.
  • Support internal control efforts in conjunction with our SOX compliance program.
  • Manage interfaces and automated data jobs to ensure efficiency, and lead effort to migrate interfaces to current technologies.
  • Advocate change control and issue resolution processes, formal release schedules, and release management processes.
  • Results oriented and deliver solutions on tight deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Accounting
  • 7+ years experience delivering IT-related financial project initiatives
  • 5+ years experience working with Costpoint
  • Strong understanding of web based application environments
  • Ability to trace transactions/processes through its full lifecycle and able to assess impact on all affected systems.
  • Extensive experience working with SQL, data extraction, data transformation, and data loading.

  • Self-starter with a mind for continuous improvement and strategic thinking
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Problem solving capabilities, particularly bridging IT and Accounting
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
