Senior Account Manager Energy Efficiency Program Outreach

ICF is seeking an outgoing individual with experience in the field of energy efficiency and clean energy policy, especially in relation to utility programs and policy.  You will be part of a close knit team working together and supporting each other, but also responsible for building relationships and tracking program progress of your own group of key stakeholders in California and the Pacific Northwest.  The position leverages and fosters a variety of skills including web and (occasional) in-person presentations, policy tracking and analysis, client and stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.  Individuals with expertise in clean energy utility regulation, commercial business efficiency, and/or marketing and communications are preferred.  Interest in, or knowledge of the ENERGY STAR Program is a plus.  Experience with building and/or regularly using customer relationship management (CRM) software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to support the ENERGY STAR program stakeholder outreach, mostly utilities
  • Support, and work directly, with federal clients to understand and work toward achieving their mission and goals
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with program stakeholders as an account manager to further the mission of the ENERGY STAR program
  • Act as line lead among the team to develop and/or evolve current expertise in one of the following areas: commercial benchmarking with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, marketing and national campaigns, or energy efficiency policy
  • Respond to client and industry stakeholder questions and requests
  • Develop and review high-quality written products, such as reports that analyze industry trends, summarize stakeholder compliance with program requirements, and identify opportunities for energy savings
  • Communicate with internal subject matter experts via written materials and meetings to promote knowledge sharing, consistency of approach, and cross-collaboration
  • Create clear, compelling messaging to communicate with a wide variety of audiences about program initiatives, data trends, or implementation progress
  • Establish and contribute to task schedules to ensure contract deliverable requirements are met on time and within budget

Experience/Skills Required:

  • 3-5 year work experience in the field of clean energy; additional years of working experience a plus
  • Master’s degree or equivalent, or bachelor’s with additional relevant experience.  Policy, environmental studies, energy, or similar fields of study most applicable (work does not, however, require technical skills)
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills (writing samples required)
  • Highly-developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation
  • Solid personal computer skills in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under strict deadlines
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience managing and analyzing data
  • Demonstrated track record of successful task management

  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team
