We’re searching for our next Public Relations Specialist. This role requires a public affairs/public relations/marketing background and will focus on communications and marketing related activities that support a cybersecurity-focused organization.
Strong candidates will have experience advising clients on marketing and communications strategies and executing those strategies. Experience supporting a federal agency with communications is highly preferred. If you are passionate about strategic communications and have the requisite prior experience, we'd love to talk to you. Develop marketing and communications strategies for new or expanding CISA programs and initiatives.
Develop communications materials in support of new or expanding programs and initiatives. Materials may include fact sheets, press releases and advisories, toolkits, presentations, social media content, infographics, flyers, brochures, talking points and other communications products.
Provide conference planning and support associated with achieving campaign objectives related to new or expanded agency priorities to include developing event plans; coordinating logistics associated with events; and developing marketing collateral, briefing binders, speaker presentations, and other event materials.
Develop social marketing/public information materials to engage audiences in new or expanding cyber and physical security and resilience programs and initiatives.
Provide strategic communication plan development, message development, marketing strategy development, and implementation support stakeholder divisions and its programs.
Support marketing to include evaluation support and data analysis to measure effectiveness of individual marketing tactics, as well as overall program results.
Provide research/technical expertise on issues related to communicating new or expanding cybersecurity and infrastructure security programs or initiatives, to include conducting communications research to determine key stakeholders, messaging needs, communications tactics, and partnerships to inform and guide stakeholder outreach and engagement activities supporting communications campaigns.
Currently holds, or is able to obtain, DHS Fitness Determination.
BS/BA in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience
Assisting in the planning for the strategic direction and development of comprehensive PR campaigns.
Working with client and project team members.
Knowledge of public relations, and integrated media.
Preferred Skills and experience:
Excellent communication skills, especially written.
Strong research and organizational skills
PR agency, corporate or government agency experience preferred.
Self-starter, with ability to manage tasks and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Job Location(s): This position is located in Arlington, VA but is currently remote/telework through the Covid-19 pandemic until federal employees in the Capital Region are recalled back to the office.
