Project Manager, Energy Technology and Market Analysis

ICF  is seeking a qualified onsite senior project manager to support Department of Energy (DOE) in the area of energy technologies and energy market analyses.

This position may require some travel to the Pittsburgh, PA, or Morgantown, WV area, but candidate may be located in another area.

This is a great opportunity to expand your experience in the energy market space working with a leading energy consulting firm.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and business leadership in support of a complex contract focusing on analysis of energy and economic trends, fossil fueled technologies, fuels, feedstock and products.
  • Analyze technical and economic impacts of potential or actual energy-related regulations, legislation, and policies; energy market forces; and macroeconomic trends.
  • Analysis of various fuel, feedstock, and product markets.
  • Manage multiple technical activities with diverse, and onsite and geographically dispersed staff.
  • Identify and support the development of new business by delivering excellent value, consistency, quality, and dependability; by managing and growing client relationships; and by working with ICF experts to identify and define opportunities.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with ICF and client senior management.
  • Perform day-to-day management of support activities including scoping work requirements, identifying resource needs, and developing budgets.

Position Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a scientific or engineering field
  • Minimum of 10 years successfully supporting clients in energy market analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to lead mid and junior level staff preforming energy market analysis and modeling tasks.
  • Experience in energy market forecasting and analysis.
  • Experience with commercial electricity market analysis tools (e.g., PLEXOS, PROMOD, PSLF, PSSE); experience with the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA’s) National Energy Modeling System (NEMS) is preferred.
  • Experience working with NETL or DOE/Fossil Energy highly preferred.
