ICF is adding staff to its Energy Efficiency team in the Central Region to support programs for Midwestern Investor-Owned Utility programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in energy efficiency and play a significant role in implementation through program outreach, account management, operations support, community engagement, and technical support. The role will require field work and some in-office responsibilities. Candidates with knowledge of energy efficient technologies associated with commercial building systems, technologies and practices related to lighting, motors, HVAC systems, commercial building energy technologies or experience in the building trades are preferred.
Perform outreach to and interface with commercial or industrial customers and contractors representing utility programs in the field to create a pipeline for participation.
Provide field mentoring, technical assistance, and process flow support to participating contractors or customers
Manage contractors or customers participating in the client programs to ensure that they comply with the terms of participation, provide excellent customer service and positively promote the brand of the sponsoring client’s energy efficiency program.
Maintain strong ongoing communications with participating customer and contractors in order to assess their needs and to receive feedback on their experience with the programs
Lead in the preparation of status reports to accurately describe activities in the field and to monitor progress towards program goals on participation and the completion of eligible projects
Review project application forms and submittals by customers, contractors, and other program participants in order to ascertain compliance with program policies and procedures
Process paperwork for program incentive payments per established policies and procedures.
Conduct desktop and in-person QA/QC to ensure accuracy of data reported to client
Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to customers participating in utility-sponsored programs
Must be located or be willing to relocate to Kansas City region as work is on-site.
Bachelor's degree OR equivalent 4+ years of utility, energy efficiency or relevant professional experience
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Prior experience supporting the implementation of utility energy efficiency programs
Previous Sales or Outreach experience, specifically with small business owners, commercial customers, and contractors
Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions
Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations and identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
Ability to be flexible to handle multiple priorities
Outstanding analytical, writing and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer relationship management skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
