ICF International is adding staff to its energy efficiency team in Syracuse, NY. We are seeking an established Project Manager to provide project management services for utility-sponsored energy efficiency projects focused on the residential market. For this opportunity we are seeking a Project Manager with experience working with New York whole home retrofit, home performance, and HVAC contractors.
Overall responsibility for managing all components of the program team and delivering savings and program performance goals, including metered kWh savings at the customer and aggregated contractor level.
Coordinate and collaborate with a multi-functional project team comprised of program operations, account management, and marketing specialists (some ICF internal staff and some subcontractors) to ensure timely and professional completion of all tasks and achieve specific program performance indicators and goals
Work with external home retrofit, home performance, and HVAC contractors to develop strategies to influence market adoption of energy efficiency services
Manage budgets, people, and subcontractors to meet financial targets
Proactively develop and implement solutions to meet changing market needs
Track and report program status to ICF management and to client
Continue to enhance and expand ICF’s residential and/or commercial energy practice
Prioritize program activities as necessary to meet performance goals
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or other similar discipline
3+ years of experience developing and managing successful energy efficiency programs sponsored by electric or gas utility companies, including responsibility for financial performance and achieving energy savings goals
Working level knowledge and experience with technical and financial aspects of energy management, especially in residential sector
Understanding of energy savings calculations and energy efficiency measures typically applicable to residential sector
Experience managing consulting projects with public sector clients, including providing quality control and budget accountability
Familiarity with related energy efficient and renewable technologies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Ability to work with data to extract insights and determine your next steps
Management or technical consulting experience
Sales/business development experience
Knowledge of New York-specific regulatory policies and procedures applicable to investor-owned utilities and energy markets in general
Knowledge of market partners and channels that would be leveraged to implement a successful customer energy program in the multifamily housing sector
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Proven ability and experience handling multiple roles and priorities simultaneously
Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team
Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to be flexible to handle multiple priorities
