On Call Spanish Translator

As an On-Call Spanish Translator, you will:
Support public and private sector clients in tackling issues such as smoking cessation, disease prevention, child welfare, energy efficiency, disaster preparedness, HIV/AIDS, and more.
Demonstrate exceptional skills in adapting English content into Spanish, ensuring that the translation reflects intended meaning, complies with plain language requirements, and is at the appropriate reading level for the audience.
Ensure that content is culturally sensitive and uses “universal” Spanish.
Translate/adapt a wide variety of materials, including social messaging, online content, fact sheets and guides, and marketing collateral, while also ensuring that illustrations, photos, and other graphic elements reflect cultural norms.
Collaborate with Creative Studio members, including copy editors and graphic designers, as well as account teams to develop and deliver exceptional work.
Ensure all work is consistent with established brand guidelines and strategy.
You will need:
Three or more years of professional experience in language adaptation and translation; government, advertising agency, or consultancy experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Spanish, communications, or a related field.
Exceptional translation/transcreation skills, ensuring cultural appropriateness and being mindful of reading level.
Fluency in Spanish grammar, syntax, and standard writing principles, ensuring that translations reflect intended meaning and correspond to target audiences in the United States.
Certification from the American Translators Association or similar certification preferred.
Experience conducting back translations (from Spanish to English) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment, juggling multiple competing deadlines.
