This position can be based in Washington DC area (Fairfax, VA) or Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will be based in New Jersey, but we are also open to remote candidates.
We’re currently hiring a Media Strategist to join our team of six very skillful Media Strategist, working alongside our Digital Ad Operations Specialists and Broadcast Media Buyers as part of the larger Paid Media team. As a member of the Paid Media team you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other ICF Next teams such as, Creative, Analytics, Paid Social, and more across a variety of accounts. In this role you will have exposure to a multitude of media strategies and tactics across both offline and online channels.
The Team
Our team supports the Paid Media efforts of our commercial and residential energy efficiency marketing portfolio contracts. Our team works most closely with our account management and creative teams, but also collaborates with Data Analytics, Paid Social, and more. Our team is quite robust with a variety of subject matter experts, spanning SEM, broadcast and digital media, audience analysis and more.
The Work
This role will be heavily involved with our team’s energy and government work. The team’s energy work spans a variety of utilities servicing both commercial and residential customers across the eastern United States. The Paid Media efforts our team provides are in support of the energy efficiency portfolio of programs designed to provide customers money and energy savings. Day-to-day tasks will span from market research, order entry, digital analytics and reporting, budget management, and more. With our existing account work experiencing a lot of organic growth and new business always in the works the position poses a lot of growth opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop innovative solutions to continuously position ICF as a cutting-edge source for media strategies
Perform tasks as delegated by planning leads for media accounts across a variety of industry verticals, such as energy efficiency and healthcare
Create and present strategic integrated media plans based on sound analytics, supported by data
Support planning leads by monitoring campaigns to meet client goals while staying on budget
Maintain campaign documents including insertion orders, flowcharts, creative spec sheets and budget summaries
Showcase up-to-date knowledge and understanding of both online and offline paid media channels: Display, Social, Search, Print, Broadcast, Outdoor, etc.
Analyze results and budgets on a regular basis; Develop and present both internal and client-facing report presentations and deliverables
Research and identify vendors to become valued partners, cultivating existing relationships for best pricing
Aide in educating project managers and clients on best practices and emerging technologies
Accomplish all other tasks as assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism or related field
Three (3) or more years of experience developing and optimizing paid media solutions within an advertising agency or client-side environment
An understanding of marketing and media planning principles and experience working with creative teams and clients in developing strategies
Three (3) or more years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially TEAMS, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience using technology to connect with key target audience segments
Working knowledge of MRI, Nielsen Prime Lingo, Strata, and/or equivalent media software
Experience with media planning and buying software, as well as preferably social media, media research, and analytics tools
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team, and have excellent time management skills
Passionate about media with and desire to be at the cutting edge of digital advertising
Ability to think beyond "media" and participate as a creative collaborator within an integrated environment
Flexibility with managing complex processes in a fast-paced environment while keeping a positive attitude
Possess an understanding of the building and management of search engine marketing (SEM) and social media self-serve platforms
Experience with third party media partners; includes exposure to programmatic media buying
Experience configuring and reporting Google Analytics
Up to date with traditional and digital media trends and innovations
Demonstrated knowledge of cross-channel media
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to foster client, vendor and internal relationships
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with an eye for detail
Highly detail oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final salary for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The salary range for Colorado is -
$45,528.00-$77,398.00
