Marketing Manager

Location: Hybrid within any USA ICF Office, Reston, VA preferred.

ICF has an incredible story to tell. For 40 years, our industry-leading work has helped organizations achieve their energy, environment, and climate goals. From helping the U.S. Department of Energy finance the largest clean hydrogen facility in the world to supporting the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program, we’re at the vanguard of important work improving the lives of millions of people in the U.S. and around the world.
ICF is hiring a Marketing Manager on our Corporate Marketing team to fuel our continued business growth with government agencies and private-sector companies in the energy, environment, and climate sectors. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations and Marketing, the Marketing Manager will help tell our story through engaging marketing campaigns, paid promotion, in-person events, and digital content from white papers to webinars.

We’re not a typical consulting firm, so we’re not looking for a typical Marketing Manager. We’re looking for a team player who can not only execute a marketing strategy but also understands how to translate complex ideas and data into engaging campaigns.

What you’ll do:

  • You will be the quarterback for all aspects of marketing campaigns that advance our energy, environment, and climate business goals.

  • You will work on a team with multiple marketers and subject-matter experts to create integrated marketing campaigns through a combination of marketing deliverables, design, and media.

  • You will support the creation of marketing content (blog posts, white papers, case studies, webinars etc.), including translating complex data and analysis into digestible and engaging narratives.

  • You will support paid media campaigns, from paid social media to media sponsorships to digital advertising.

  • You will engage subject matter experts at all levels on relevant topics and messaging approaches to attract industry attention.

  • You will help educate and encourage staff to engage with social media to further extend the reach of our corporate marketing content.

  • You will work with senior staff to prioritize conferences and industry awards to maximize ICF’s exposure in the marketplace.

  • You will manage in-person and virtual events, including content and agenda development, venue selection, contract negotiations, marketing and promotional materials, catering, hotel accommodations, staffing coordination, and on-site event logistics.

  • You will maintain accuracy and accountability of budget, create event execution and work back plans, evaluate results against goals, and deliver wrap-up report.

  • You will work with vendors to review and process all event expenses.

  • You will support data analysis and reporting efforts associated with various marketing strategies and campaigns.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field.

  • 6+ years of experience working on marketing campaigns, preferably for a marketing agency or in B2G or B2B environments.

  • Project management and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience with a client relationship management (CRM) system (e.g., Dynamics CRM).

  • Experience with marketing automation systems (e.g., Marketo, Eloqua, etc.) and web content management systems (e.g., Sitecore).

  • Storytelling skills with the interest/ability to turn complex topics and data into compelling narratives.

  • Experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to influence an audience that includes senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work across teams and departments in a highly collaborative way.

  • A strong communications leader who is able to manage day-to-day tasks independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of energy, environment, and climate industries.
