Description

To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking a manager for our Utility Programs and Services division to help transform and continue to innovate and scale ICF’s utility program offerings nationally. The goal is to bring analytical insights and operational rigor to the next generation of flexible DSM programs.  This includes integrating traditional energy efficiency and demand response measures to be more dynamic, as well as incorporating distributed resources such as solar, storage, water heaters and managed EV charging. The manager will be able to bring best practices, as well as be familiar with evolving trends in developing and delivering Flexible Load Management pilots and programs to utilities bringing added value to both our clients and ICF-run programs.

In this role, you will work with the senior leadership and regional teams to help develop and support the continued development, sales and delivery of innovative flexible load management analytics, pilots, and programs.  Additionally, you will assist with the implementation of standardized approaches and best practices to ensure optimized and consistent delivery and cost effectiveness of these offerings as we develop them to scale.

Responsibilities

  • A primary responsibility of this role is client engagement and project management. The manager will be evaluated on his/her ability to ensure project quality and client satisfaction

  • Manage existing and new projects, including helping to develop more strategic, long-term relationships with our clients through understanding their needs and the context in which they operate

  • Lead and contribute to proposals and other business development opportunities

  • Work with Program Managers/Directors to identify and develop areas of opportunity within existing and new clients

  • Review and learn the Team’s current offerings and tools. Increase the utilization of the team and tools through business and offering development. This may include identifying modifications to existing tools/offerings

  • In coordination with the Director, represent the team at stakeholder meetings, conferences, events, etc.

  • Work with the team to identify strengths and development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • MA/MS in a related field

  • 7+ years of experience

  • Experience in leading projects and managing internal and external stakeholders for an electric or gas utility

  • Ability to clearly define and document business processes and requirements

  • Ability to balance, delegate, and prioritize multiple projects/tasks to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines

  • Ability to creatively solve problems by developing multiple approaches that work within a set timeline and budget

  • Ability to conduct consultative sales meetings with utilities, including working across organizations within the utility

  • Have experience with and/or understand the concept of taking a new product or service to market

  • Professional verbal and meeting facilitation skills. Excellent written communication skills  

  • Ability to generate creative content and communication in a way that will support the development of marketing, business development, and sales
