We’re currently hiring for a Health Communications Associate.

ICF seeks a Health Communications Associate to support work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This role will support strategic communications, health education outreach, and digital content development through detailed administrative work and by triaging and tracking client / program requests from start to finish. This is a great opportunity to support a team that is working on meaningful projects that ultimately help people live healthier lives. This role will work within a highly matrixed, creative, fast paced environment with seasoned communications and media relations professionals. The ideal candidate will be an excellent task manager with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to client requests, often juggling priorities and tight deadlines.

As a Health Communications Associate, you will:

  • Support implementation of communication strategies and tactics to reach and engage audiences to increase visibility of government data, resources, and materials. 

  • Lead social media activities including strategy, planning, content development and daily management of platforms (for example, Twitter or Facebook).

  • Work collaboratively with the different ICF departments, federal staff team, subject matter experts, and other contractor teams.

  • Provide a variety of administrative and logistical support to contract initiatives, including webinar support, organizing, promoting, and directing social media events (e.g., Facebook Live events or Twitter chats).

As a Health Communications Associate, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications, public relations, social sciences, or equivalent required.

  • 3+ years of experience within agency and/or marketing & communications environments, government and health experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Windows PC environment, Microsoft Office applications, social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr) and design tools (e.g., Canva).

  • Strong writing skills to support the development of social media/digital content, as well as other communications.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with and developing content for multicultural audiences.

  • Experience working with health care provider engagement strategies and messaging.

Job Location(s): Within the current landscape, this role will be supported remotely. This role will ultimately sit in Rockville, MD, when remote working guidelines are lifted.
