We are currently looking for a GL Accountant to join the BE Finance &Accounting team for a permanent contract.

Main GL Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Belgium Accounting Lead, you will be responsible for assisting with a broad range of duties that includes:

Monthly and yearly closing tasks:

• Preparation and posting of monthly general journals, including those for fixed assets, payroll entries, VAT centralization, reclass of direct debit balances, etc.

• Preparation and posting prepayments and accruals journals.

• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and intercompany balances reconciliations.

• Posting intercompany transactions including recharges and funding.

• Raising intercompany recharge invoices.

• Analysis of Monthly, quarterly, yearly BS and P&L variances.

Others:

• Preparation of Belgium VAT returns and other tax compliance matters (Calculation of DNAs, etc)

• Preparation of the monthly cash flow forecast

• Assisting with the statutory audit for the Belgian entities

• Assisting with the production of the statutory accounts

• Assisting with the annual company tax return preparation

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 3 years of experience.

• Good knowledge of Belgium GAAP.

• Knowledge of one or more ERP tools.

• Has an experience in an international environment.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).

• Good Knowledge of Belgian VAT requirements.

• French-speaking with good knowledge of English.
