GIS Developer- Back End
ICF is seeking a GIS Developer- Back End for a REMOTE role supporting the Universal Services Administrative Company based in Washington, DC.

What you will need:
Lead design, development, and optimization of spatial databases and map services.
Support back-end development for web-based geospatial applications including geoprocessing and internal APIs.
Recommend approaches to meeting a diverse set of end user needs through the implementation of data pipelines.
Support strategic thinking and processes related to infrastructure, web mapping platforms, and software development and deployment.
Perform data profiling and analysis for spatial and non-spatial data.
Develop documentation for back-end applications and conduct training for technical users.
Technologies you will use:
Columnar and relational databases (e.g. Vertica, PostgreSQL)
GIS Servers (e.g. ArcGIS Server, GeoServer)
ETL tools (e.g. Pentaho Data Integration, Talend)
Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline)
5 years of experience with relationship databases and SQL scripting.
5 years of experience managing and optimizing ETL workflows
2 years of experience with spatial databases (e.g. PostGIS)
2 years of experience building and customizing applications using languages such as Python
US Citizen or Permanent Lawful Resident (Green Card Holder) preferred. Employment must be compliant with eligibility for Public Trust Clearance due to Government Contract.
What would be good to have:
Design practices for relational and columnar databases.
Familiarity with managing and tuning web servers and GIS servers.
Familiarity with cloud solutions for data management and ETL
Demonstrated experience showing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative.
