Full Stack Engineer - PHP/Drupal 8 Developer

ICF seeks a Full Stack PHP/Drupal 8 Developer to help us build modern digital health services. This highly impactful project involves building and customizing a modern interactive web site and API (both front- and back-end) with Drupal 8 that will be used by researchers, health care providers, medical patients, and the general public across the country.

The project is implemented using an Agile, Scrum-based process. The team uses integrated human-centered design and quality assurance measures to implement highly modern, usable interfaces. The site provides rich functionality for users to interactively analyze valuable datasets such as COVID data, QPP provider data, and healthcare metrics in real-time, supporting upwards of hundreds of thousands of concurrent users. All the datasets are API-enabled and support integration with external websites and applications.

Tools & Technology you’ll be using:

  • Drupal 8, Drush, Acquia, DKAN
  • PHP, Composer, Cypress
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL

  • Test-Driven Development with phPUnit, Codeception
  • CI/CD with Jenkins
  • DevOps practices
  • Version control with Git, GitHub, etc.
  • Linux

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build features for an existing Drupal application with a complex content structure and functionality
  • Responsible for complex Drupal development tasks including custom module development using the Drupal API system and hooks
  • Build, unit test and maintain custom web applications (PHP)
  • Collaborate with front-end developers for functional and intuitive implementation
  • Work independently on tasks with the opportunity to get input from other engineers as needed
  • Participate in peer reviews of pull requests and provide productive feedback to improve the quality of work

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree with 7+ years of technical experience
  • 5+ years of development experience in PHP and Drupal
  • Experience with traditional RDBMS databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience working in Linux on Mac
  • Demonstrated experience working on Agile development projects
  • Must live in the United States, have lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years, and be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS with 5+ years of relevant technical experience or an MS and 3+ years of technical experience
  • Experience developing RESTful services
  • Experience with AWS and Docker
  • Experience ensuring your code builds and deploys properly through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes built in Jenkins
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development using automated testing frameworks, such as PHPUnit, Codeception
  • Experience with DevOps, including Continuous Integration with Jenkins and Continuous Deployment
  • Experience with DKAN Open Data Platform
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Federal Government contracting work experience

Professional Skills:

  • Expertise working as part of a dynamic, interactive Agile team developing and delivering digital services
  • Ability to work on a small to medium-sized Agile team, but as part of a larger multi-team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work and coordinate with other developers using digital tools.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final salary for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The salary range for Colorado is -

$80,656.00-$137,116.00
