About the ICF Climate Center
With 40+ years as one of the world’s leading science-based climate consultancies, ICF works with business, government, and nonprofit organizations to design and implement programs and policies that drive low-carbon transitions and build resilience against the effects of climate change.
The ICF Climate Center offers compelling research and unique insights that combine climate science and predictive analytics to help organizations establish clear, practical pathways forward.
At ICF, we have the world’s best combination of science and technical expertise across the most important climate topics in the industry. We work across an incredibly diverse range of sectors and geographies that have been or are now focused on climate-related issues. We strongly believe that effective climate solutions will require engagement and actions across both dimensions.
Our insights are driven by science. No matter the client, we provide objective perspectives and actionable solutions rooted in expertise across dozens of disciplines and drawing on decades of experience.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the discourse and action surrounding the climate change challenge. The Executive Director will be the primary leader, expert and spokesperson for the newly launched ICF Climate Center. This person will be responsible for upholding ICF’s core values as well as ICF’s commitment to science, unbiased analytics, and pragmatic solutions to challenges posed by climate change.
As a senior executive at ICF, the Executive Director of the ICF Climate Center will engage with leaders across ICF, clients, partners, and the media to harness ICF’s deep institutional memory, subject matter expertise, and perspectives across all facets of climate change.
The Executive Director will work with Deputy Directors to design, plan, and implement specific workstreams related to thought leadership, partnerships, events, etc.
The Executive Director will also be available for ICF’s clients to help to advance their climate action and supports our operating groups in maintaining strategic senior level client relationships.
In addition to overseeing Climate Center activities, the Executive Director will tap into subject-matter expertise and a ‘speakers bureau’ representing the depth and breadth of specialized expertise in topics related to the key pillars of the Climate Center: Climate Policy and Planning, Decarbonization, Sustainable Business, Communications & Engagement, and Risk Management and Adaptation.
The Executive Director of the ICF Climate Center will report to the head of ICF’s Energy, Environment, and Infrastructure group and work closely with other members of ICF’s executive leadership team including ICF’s Chief Marketing Officer and the head of ICF’s Europe and Asia group.
The Executive Director will provide quarterly updates to a broader steering committee of ICF executives whose role is twofold: the steering committee members are available to amplify and reinforce the messages and intellectual property created by the Climate Center and they will help to ensure that the Center is maximally effective in leveraging expertise, outcomes, and relationships across the broader firm.
Promote the Center’s brand, insights and activities to media, clients and industry groups, and in doing so build awareness and understanding of ICF’s capabilities and strengths in the climate, environment, energy and policy arenas.
Help ICF and its clients develop a point of view on key policies, regulations, and technological advances in the climate arena. Work to share ICF’s point of view and insights through client engagement, industry outreach, press outreach, personal connections and meaningful partnerships with academia, businesses, non-profit organizations, and government leaders.
