To support our growth in Southern California, we are seeking Environmental Planners to contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. This position would support projects within the greater Southern California line of business with a specific focus on projects in the transportation field including roadway, rail, transit, ports, and airports. Environmental Planners at ICF have an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, build their research and technical writing skills, interact with experts in a variety of fields, while building content knowledge and consulting skills. Our Southern California offices provide environmental planning services to both public and private sector clients; however, the focus of this position will be on projects with public sector clients. Currently, staff in the region offer a variety of services, including:
Environmental impact analysis in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Permitting and environmental compliance in accordance with agency regulations.
Strategic communications, impact assessments, natural and cultural resource surveys, air quality and noise modeling, and policy analysis for public agencies.
Bachelor's Degree in environmental studies, natural or physical science, public policy, economics, environmental management, or related subjects.
Since this is an entry level role, we are expecting to see relevant university level courses highlighted on your resume.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; experience with software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project desirable.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to function well within teams and taking initiative.
Interest in supporting a wide variety of infrastructure and transportation projects which may include roadway, rail, transit, port, and airport.
