Energy Project Manager - Energy Advisory, Research, and Analytics (Remote Canada or USA)

ICF is hiring Energy Project Managers to support and oversee market research on various projects related to sustainable energy and the energy transition. The role will contribute to the delivery of innovative and high-quality products and services to support our utility clients across North America as they tackle the challenges related to climate change, electrification, and the integration of distributed resources onto the grid. Successful candidates will work in a cross-functional team, also supporting business development and helping to mentor and train junior staff.

What you will be doing -

• Support and oversee market research on various projects related to sustainable energy and the energy transition
• Research, analyze, and advise on the impact of future policies, programs, and regulations, and support the development of client strategies to manage change
• Report on the results of analyses for major utility clients
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases
• Support sales and client development efforts with market research, proposal development, and thought leadership
• Help mentor and train junior staff

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (applied physics, sciences, economics, etc.)
• 3+ years of energy industry experience, including experience in energy consulting, energy management, building science, and/or energy policy

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Master’s or PhD degree in engineering, public policy, and economic specializing in sustainability, building science, and/or energy policy
• 5+ years of energy industry experience, including experience leading complex projects
• Demonstrated experience with project and resource management
• Experience with business development and nurturing client relationships
• Understanding of economic valuation and utility cost-effectiveness tests
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • DSM programs (energy efficiency, demand response, etc.)
  • Electrification/decarbonization
  • Distributed energy resources
  • Building energy modeling
• Exceptional research skills, including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis skills
• Experience in regulatory and public stakeholder processes would be highly valued
