ICF is growing its energy program implementation team to support new and existing contracts in the region. Our clients include energy utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 corporations, and a variety of Federal, State, and local governmental agencies. We are seeking an experienced Energy Engineer to oversee a portfolio of research projects focused on demonstration of new technologies for use in residential or non-residential natural gas energy efficiency applications.
Key Responsibilities
Leading cross-functional project teams comprised of engineers, scientists, and analysts (both ICF internal staff and subcontractors) to successfully research and evaluate new natural gas energy efficiency technologies.
Creating research project plans and managing one or more discrete research project budgets, scope, and schedule to achieve all project goals, KPIs, and client and customer satisfaction.
Performing technical and market analysis to support projects.
Preparing final reports documenting the results of assigned research projects including conducting public presentations summarizing project results to a wide audience including utility personnel, Public Utility Commission representatives, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and other interested stakeholders.
Collaborating with a Technical Advisory Committee comprised of senior leaders representing associations involved with energy and environmental issues.
Leveraging existing and/or forming new relationships with subject matter experts involved with the manufacturing, sales, and installation of natural gas energy efficiency technologies.
Identifying market channels to facilitate increased adoption of new technologies that have a high potential to deliver energy savings for utility efficiency programs.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences.
5 years of experience in energy efficiency, and/or renewable energy project management.
5 years of experienced in performing engineering calculations related to energy efficiency, and/or renewable energy.
Knowledge and experience with commercial, industrial, or residential natural gas energy efficiency equipment such as HVAC, water heating, cooking and/or process/controls.
Preferred Skills/Experience
Advanced degree in engineering or physical sciences.
Technical consulting experience.
Background in conducting research
Experience writing published technical reports.
Knowledge of various market partners and channels that would be leveraged to implement a successful customer energy efficiency program and/or energy efficiency technology
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and technologies.
Familiarity with California energy efficiency programs and energy codes.

Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
