Job Description
We are seeking an Account Manager with a desire for energy efficiency to take a significant role in the implementation of programs that will deliver and expand our offerings in across our North Carolina client’s territories. This position requires experience with public speaking as well as strong writing, editing, and research skills.

What you will be doing:
- Work in support of utility-sponsored programs that encourage energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial markets.
- Act as customer's advocate to ensure the customer obtains accurate knowledge of program offerings.
- Develop a data driven outreach strategy to recruit and retain new and existing customers to participate in energy efficiency programs.
- Prospect, identify, and qualify potential energy efficiency upgrades for customers.
- Increase customer awareness of bottom-line benefits resulting from implementing energy conservation measures.
- Cultivate and develop new business through long-term relationships with professional organizations and trade allies.
- Have knowledge of additional state and federal funding programs
- Track state/local and national energy policies
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
- A bachelor's degree in (Business Admin, Communications, Energy, or closely related fields)
- 1+ Years of professional work experience
OR
- HS Diploma and
5+ Years of professional work experience
OR
- Associates and
3+ Years of professional work experience
- Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
What we would like you to have:
- Strong proven success in an outside sales role and/or business development
- Strong follow-up and follow-through skills and ability to successfully close sales
- An energy efficiency background in residential or commercial spaces
- Familiarity with EnergyStar
- Basic understanding of residential mechanical equipment (HVAC, water heating, etc.)
- Utility experience and understanding of DSM program implementation.
- Experience in MS Office Applications (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel)
- The understanding to introduce energy efficiency improvements and explain the return-on-investment.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$47,227.00 - $80,285.00
