Economics Analyst- DHS Dedicated
Are you looking to work on current and emerging policy issues, particularly ones related to immigration? Do you want to apply your education and experience to help government agencies improve the way they develop and implement regulations, policies, and programs? Our Regulatory, Policy, and Economics portfolio has over 30 years of experience supporting the design, implementation, and improvement of federal programs and is seeking an Economics Analyst to join them.
This full-time position will be focused on supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on immigration-related issues and programs. The position will be located in either Washington, DC or Reston, VA, depending on the client’s requirements (with flexibility for telework considered), and is available immediately.
As an Economics Analyst, you will collaborate with federal economists and other policy-making program staff to develop comprehensive and defensible Regulatory Impact Analyses and other related analyses for our federal clients. The successful candidate will have experience in conducting economic research, processing and analyzing large datasets, as well as the ability to foster and maintain client relationships. Understanding of the federal rulemaking process is desired but not essential.
What You Will Do:
- Interact directly with client staff within DHS
- Immerse yourself rapidly in varied immigration-related economic analysis tasks and projects
- Significantly contribute to projects analyzing the costs and economic impacts of current and proposed federal policies
- Conduct and document comprehensive data analytics, and research
- Participate in the day-to-day activities of current projects, including working collaboratively with colleagues
- Attend intra-agency meetings and working groups
- Provide verbal and written progress updates to client and ICF staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics
- 3 years of experience in economic analysis, preferably for federal government agencies or consulting companies
- U.S. Citizenship is required per federal contracts
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance from DHS
- Willingness to locate and work in the Washington, DC area
Professional Skills:
- Self-starter with excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to conduct and document comprehensive research and analysis
- Experience manipulating large data sets
- Proficiency in Excel and R (or another common statistical programming package, such as SAS, STATA, or Python)

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$58,520.00 - $99,484.00
