Director, Energy and Sustainability Marketing
Director, Energy and Sustainability Programs/ Marketing Manager
ICF is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented candidate who will play a significant role in the development and implementation of Federal energy efficiency programs, primarily with residential products, such as appliances, including Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH), HVAC, and others. Duties include analyzing retail and manufacturer channels; market and product trends; and product/brand adjacencies in the marketplace and developing retailer, manufacturer, and distributor engagement strategies based on research and analysis. This position will also work with other stakeholders, such as utilities and other energy efficiency program sponsors.
Provide outreach and implementation support for one of the nation’s premier energy efficiency and environmental programs.
Oversee the development of program strategies and outreach activities, documents, maintenance of databases, contract activities and deliverables.
Track budgets and project schedules.
Coordinate with a team of industry and technical experts.
Implement program design strategies and implementation plans, develop and execute marketing strategies.
Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships with key organizations, specifically in the retail, manufacturer, and distributor sector.
Assist in team management and professional development.
Master’s degree in environmental studies, public policy, or related discipline
12+ years of related work experience.
Experience with the development/delivery of public-private voluntary partnership programs.
Experience working with clients and managing projects in customer facing roles within a field sales or marketing organization.
Experience working at or with a mass or specialty retailer.
Experience with client management and outreach, including partnership development in a changing environment.
Outstanding skills in the following areas: organization, financial and time management, analysis, collaboration, written and verbal communications, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
This role demands strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills and an execution-minded mentality.
Strong knowledge of retail environment and development of Channel Management programs.
Understanding of retail operations and dynamics.
The ability to “sell” retailer stakeholders on the benefits or value of marketing and merchandising solutions. Specifically, the ability to influence everyone from manufacturers to the retail buyer/merchant.
Experience with tools and techniques to merchandise and market categories and products at retail.
Experience and skills in preparing for, participating in, and leading the selling process to retailers, as needed.
Experience at a manufacturer organization, including experience with in-store promotions and signage.
Experience working with the cross functional teams to develop product, merchandising, and promotion strategies.
Strong at building relationships across diverse sets of stakeholders, and possess exceptionally good listening, influencing and selling skills.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated results in large, complex, matrix organizations where they had to use influence skills to drive results.
Experience writing reports, articles, case studies, or other communications materials.
