Digital Communications Specialist - Hybrid

ICF is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist/Web Content Manager (WCM) to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Washington, DC Metro Area (i.e., the DMV). 

The WCM will work closely with content subject matter experts to help in developing copy for mental health-related artifacts such as blog posts, social media content, newsletters, poster presentations, etc.; working with a graphics artist to produce graphics for various artifacts; preparing content for posting to websites; and working with content subject matter experts to copy edit clinical tools, reports and other content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with mental health subject matter experts to provide copy edit support in editing and reviewing written and graphic content, design/layout of products and information intended for public release
  • Ensure client products adhere to the APA and DoD style guidelines
  • Support the development and distribution of artifacts that inform and educate external audiences about the DoD client’s services.  This could include supporting product development such as press releases, brochures, website content, social media content, videos, TV and radio PSAs, speeches, briefings and talking points, newsletters, and branding materials
  • Work with a graphic design specialist to support graphics and design/layout expertise
  • Ensure content management optimization for Section 508 compliance
  • Work with content management systems (CMS) to maintain web-based content and fix broken links
  • Apply creativity and resourcefulness and the regular use of independent judgment when interfacing with customers and staff
  • Participate in digital projects/artifacts delivered by, and in partnership with, content subject matter experts, Government IT, change management, and information assurance and security support resources
    • Consult with customers to identify and specify project requirements
    • Support content development for digital projects
    • Define digital project scope and objectives
  • Lead and manage digital content form, functionality, accessibility, and usability
  • Prepare materials in a variety of formats including text, graphic, photo, audio, video, streaming, interactive presentations and other types of digital media

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of directly relevant, similar professional experience
  • Ability to write and produce in very direct, succinct artifacts that are free of grammatical errors and that comply with the APA Style Guide
  • 2+ years of experience with MS Office 365 suite, including SharePoint
  • 2+ years of experience with content management systems such as Sitecore
  • 2+ years of experience with  experience managing social media posts on platforms to include Facebook and Twitter

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Experience with graphics programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Previous experience supporting content management and communications efforts within a DoD setting
  • Previous experience supporting content management and communications efforts for public health, mental health or related efforts
  • Previous experience using Sitecore content management system
  • Previous experience using GovDelivery
  • Previous experience using Buffer or another social media management platform

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$48,067.00 - $81,713.00
