What you’ll get to do:
Design, coach and implement development pipeline projects and initiatives from initiation through completion and maintenance. Projects require partnership across software engineering groups including close collaboration with technical leadership to improve documentation, evolve practices, and oversee initiatives. Be the steward of software development processes and ensure the efficiency of delivery pipelines. Support migration and consolidation from on premise data centers into the cloud. This will include:
Continuous Improvement: Identify, develop, document, and promote compliance with software development and operational standards. Bring a passion for increasing quality and driving business value while simultaneously decreasing the effort to get there.
Communication: share knowledge and thought leadership to the rest of the organization, including strategic technical direction as well as professional development opportunities.
Coaching: Provide thought leadership among the engineering team. Engage and grow engineers through collaboration on new and complex solutions. Review work and processes for opportunities to improve.
Documentation: Support documentation of existing and proposed practices and configurations. Participate in the discovery of projects and create architectural diagrams and document technical requirements.
Design: Review incoming initiatives and collaborate to design solutions for projects. This includes supporting the selection and review of technology frameworks/architecture to be used on projects.
Implementation: Develop, implement, and/or oversee the implementation of digital technology solutions with appropriate software design methodology in a dynamic and faced paced team environment.
Requirements: Work with Development teams, Product Managers and other engineering team members to break down project requirements into development tasks. Provide scope/estimates.
Code Reviews: Establish and enforce best practices and code guidelines and ensure code quality is up to standards.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, related discipline, or equivalent experience
8+ years of progressive experience in software development, systems administration, engineering infrastructure as code, and architecture responsibility.
Experience with on-prem and cloud computing platforms.
Extensive knowledge of the software development landscape and experience changing the software development lifecycle.
Ability to appropriately target information across technical audiences, clients, and executive leaders.
Strong problem-solving skills with an investigative mentality, decision making ability and a capacity for strategic and associative thinking
5+ years of experience in data center architecture and cloud PaaS environments, including experience migrating organizations from data centers into the cloud.
4+ years of experience with Azure and 2+ years with AWS.
Extensive experience with various tools such as Jenkins, TFS, Subversion, Git, Docker, and Azure DevOps.
Proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as Powershell.
Proficiency in JIRA and SharePoint.
Demonstrated thought leadership on Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) in the software engineering process and the ability to clearly articulate how any given DevOps approach facilitates these practices to drive business goals.
Position may be performed remotely but will require quarterly travel to ICF offices, specifically those located in Northern Virginia and Golden, CO.
