Data Privacy and Commercial Manager
An exciting opportunity has risen to join our growing ICF Europe and Asia business, as a Data Protection and Commercial Manager.
Reporting into the Vice President of Contracts, the successful individual will be responsible for leading the data protection assessment risks across various regional commercial transactions with clients and suppliers and to propose and implement appropriate mitigation.
About the team
The Data Protection and Commercial Manager will sit within a team of around 30 professionals, who provide a centralised service to the business addressing client contracts, procurement, pricing, and risk. The team is located in multiple locations across the UK, US, Belgium, and India, and supports project delivery around the world.
About the role
This role will take the lead on assessing data protection risk levels within our E2E client and supplier transactions, and proposing the correct level of mitigation through use of Data Protection Addendums and DP provisions, alongside SCC or similar as may be required.
This person will also take an active role in negotiating and drafting any provisions with the third parties, whilst working alongside the corporate privacy team in areas of high complexity.
The role will require subject matter expertise in working with the sales and project teams to understand their data flows and the appropriate steps for DPIA or lesser controls.
This role will have the opportunity to contribute to ICF policy development world-wide, and will take the lead on key projects in a fast paced area of growth.
The role has high levels of autonomy and growth and will be able to take an active role in broader commercial support of deals where DP plays a significant role, and indeed this person should be able to and have experience of delivering training and general up-skilling for the broader population, whilst looking for ways to standardise and simplify our approach.
The person in this role should be well rounded and be able to both lead and counsel on matters of compliance, whilst also being focused on delivery to the client and the protection of ICF’s interests.
Proven level of expertise on data protection (GDPR) and EU e-privacy, data management and information governance.
A good knowledge of global privacy regulations and trends.
Proven experience and ability to demonstrate a track record of leading on data privacy issues within a B2B environment.
An experienced deal maker and negotiator.
Someone who has worked on significant and complex transactions, taking a lead on the contract negotiations, client engagement, and managed the appropriate deal governance.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of skill in contract drafting and contract comprehension, and has a proven background in demonstrated experience in this area.
