The Content Strategist will be part of an Experience Practice that serves many ICF divisions and customers. As such, this role will have access to other digital strategy resources for mentoring, professional development, and community. It is not a content development/copywriting role (though assessing and editing web content for Plain Language is part of the work).

This role requires effective facilitation and communication abilities, both oral and written, as well as proven client management and resiliency skills.

As a Content Strategist, you will:

  • Conduct content inventories, audits, page description diagrams, navigation labels, headings, and similar deliverables related to structuring content within a CMS for appropriate front-end display

  • Help UX designers and content writers understand what content elements are necessary for different types of content or page templates

As a Content Strategist, you will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a content or IA role working within enterprise content management systems

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Demonstrated resiliency and experience in client-facing roles requiring tactful communications in fast-moving environments

  • A strong understanding of content strategy and IA best practices relevant to large websites with many stakeholders and user groups

  • Understanding of on-page search engine optimization (SEO) tactics, including knowledge of writing effective metadata

  • Understanding of developing effective taxonomies and applying them to searchable facets for CMS records

  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with federal or similar web experience, or with sites that host libraries of resources for end users

A suitability process may be required for positions supporting federal customers, and employment will be contingent upon the favorable outcome of the suitability/badge process. Depending on your role and project assignment, you may receive a request to submit a federal SF85P Questionnaire for Public Trust Positions and a fingerprint card for processing via the electronic questionnaires for investigation processing (e-QIP) system either immediately upon employment or later as project assignments change. The employee must complete the e-QIP application and return per the instructions within 4 days of receipt.
