We’re currently hiring for a Health Communication Specialist to work with our Centers for Disease Control and Prevention project team to tackle the toughest issues in public health. Your contributions will support the health and well-being of communities impacted by some of the most severe and high-profile public health problems in a generation.

Job Location(s): Within the current landscape, this role will be supported remotely until the client enacts its return-to-work plans in Atlanta, Ga., scheduled in early 2022.

As a Communication Specialist you will:

  • Support our client in key areas of digital communication management, including strategy, audience segmentation, content development, copywriting and editing, plain language/clear communication and digital media channel management.
  • Use science-based communication strategies and tactics, including storytelling, to reach and engage audiences to increase visibility of government training programs, resources, and materials. 
  • Oversee communication product development, working with our client creative services and digital services team to write, edit and design educational and promotional materials to support a range of communication efforts.
  • Disseminate digital content through client and partner channels to increase visibility of client’s programs and services to a variety of professional and citizen-based audiences.
  • Own key project tasks and work with senior and junior staff on the prioritization, coordination, completion and submission of key project deliverables.

As a Communication Specialist you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health communication, marketing, public relations, social sciences, or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of communications experience, government experience preferred.
  • Strong writing skills, with 1 plus yrs of experience writing for a variety of platforms to include digital fact sheets, short-form videos, web pages and social media accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience with federal, state or county health agencies, developing, and implementing communication strategies for public health programs. 
  • Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to clients’ communications challenges/problems (e.g., new influencer engagement or ways to visualize complex information)

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities at a given time.
