Communications Specialist

We’re searching for our next Communications Specialist. This role requires a public affairs or communications background and will focus on communications that support a cybersecurity-focused organization.

Strong candidates will have experience advising clients on communications. Experience supporting a federal agency is highly preferred. If you are passionate about communications and have the requisite prior experience, we'd love to talk to you. Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft communications plans and strategies in collaboration with the Communications Director in support of the client’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop communications materials, which may include fact sheets, press releases and advisories, toolkits, presentations, social media content, infographics, flyers, brochures, talking points, surveys, blogs, marketing emails and other communications products.
  • Develop social marketing/public information materials to promote and engage audiences in cybersecurity educational and training programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as an editor, including updating and correcting web content.
  • Provide quality assurance reviews for deliverables.
  • Provide meeting support associated with programs and initiatives, including developing event plans; coordinating logistics associated with events; and developing marketing collateral, speaker presentations, talking points, and other event materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently holds, or is able to obtain, DHS Fitness Determination.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of six (6) years of demonstrated experience:

Preferred Skills and experience:

  • Experience assisting in development of communications materials to build brand and product awareness through targeted media and awareness campaigns.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially written.
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • Experience creating written content for public distribution in support of a government agency.
  • Experience using social media marketing tools, such as Sprinklr and Sprout Social.
  • Experience using SharePoint.
  • Experience with Drupal.
  • Self-starter, with ability to manage tasks and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working successfully in a team environment, preferably remote.
  • Proficiency in the following MS Office 2021 applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$68,325.00 - $116,152.00
