We're currently hiring for a Communications Specialist, who will play an integral role in helping our state and local transportation client(s) with communications and marketing solutions, and who is passionate about coordinating and implementing successful communication strategies.
We are looking for candidates who are proven writers, multi-format communicators and who are collaborators by nature. If your experience includes work with state or local governments, or in the transportation or sustainability sectors, then you may be just who we're looking for! As a Communications Specialist, you will:
Contribute and support communications and marketing strategies to meet client objectives and goals
Manage and cultivate positive client relations through regular communication and collaboration
Collaborate with our creative team, internal program team, and clients to develop marketing materials, including newsletters, fact sheets, customer stories, and websites
Collaborate with internal and external partners, including transportation and mobility experts, and industry thought leaders on marketing and communications materials
Plan and develop social and paid media assets and messaging
Coordinate and execute promotional campaigns from planning to implementation and reporting
Track and support performance evaluation through analytics tools and reporting
Support planning and executing events, meetings, and workshops
Manage multiple deliverables at once, with varying deadlines using Microsoft Office and other collaboration tools including Teams, Trello, Sharepoint, SmartSheets, Jira, etc.
As a Communications Specialist, you will have:
Bachelor's degree, required (e.g., communications, marketing, public relations, or advertising)
5+ years of professional marketing communications experience
Knowledge of traditional and social media environments; understanding various communication channels and how they work (print, social, digital, paid media, events and outreach, direct response, etc.)
An understanding and mastery of email management systems, email content strategy and analytics, and email automation tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
Excellent writing skills; ability to provide a writing sample
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
Knowledge of marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics
Willingness to travel as needed
Job Location(s): Within the current landscape, this role will be supported remotely. This role will be based in the Albany, New York region.
