Cloud Enterprise Architect

ICF is seeking an experienced Cloud, Enterprise Architect for opportunities based in our Arlington, VA office in support of initiatives related to digital transformation, portfolio modernization, and delivery of enterprise strategies for a diverse set of federal clients. This role is a high visibility technology leadership position requiring an extensive background and operational experience with cloud services, cloud advisory, adoption, migration patterns, architectural engagements, major products, services and frameworks, industry standards along with implementations of leading COTS products to be applied in a multitude of complex scenarios. Position includes architectural artifact and transitional roadmap development, system and cloud topology design, prototyping, with team mentoring in a dynamic client and business partner facing atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engages the client organization, manages key stakeholders, and fosters relationships to develop a deep and thorough understanding of the enterprise

  • Creates a vision, strategy, and produces a roadmap to lead cloud adoption modernization efforts by applying a proven track record of assessments, target technology and IT landscape specifications, technical asset configuration and multi-phased cloud migration deliveries

  • Implements and manages the cloud journey while ensuring adherence organizational compliance, best practices, and industry standards

  • Serves as the primary technological point of contact, responsible for the overarching technical oversight, architecture and construction efforts

  • Oversees cloud provider and vendor interactions and the effectuation of products, services, platform(s) and other solutions along the roadmap while ensuring that technical milestones are following the program schedule

  • Develops effective governance, leads technical resources, mitigates risk, monitors quality, security, etc., and ensures success in the execution of these areas

  • Participates in, and leads technology evaluations, proofs of concept, client demonstrations and various solutioning and educational presentations to assert vetting and client buy-in

  • Coordinates and collaborates on developing requirements and mission outcomes with executive leadership, business stakeholders, various technical teams, contractors, etc.

  • Serves as the technical strategy champion, resolving program issues, answering questions, and prescribing adoption of proposed solutions for leadership, staff, and contractors

  • Authors required documentation, briefings, SLAs and technical standards for the architectural runway

  • Works closely, leads and coordinates with other architects and additional members of the technical leadership and all other program teams

  • Engages diverse organizations, industry partners and clients during business acquisition phases and for all capture activities

  • Produces technical solutions with detailed narrative for proposal development and supports key personnel requirements during procurement phases such as orals, technical challenges, etc.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS in information systems or computer science

  • 12+ years of technology leadership experience with participation in major modernization and integration projects while designing and architecting large scale applications, including SaaS and cloud native

  • Experience and accomplishments with de-facto cloud providers (AWS/Azure/Google), applying serverless products using managed services and platform-based application technologies in solution architecture, design, and system development

  • Ability to define DevSecOps pipelines, tools and processes including (IaC) infrastructure as code solutions using organizational architectural design principles based on government FISMA and NIST requirements

  • Experience in refactoring systems into microservices and containerized deployments that integrate with native cloud services

  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise-scope architectural engagements, technical leadership at the program level, along with a successful track record of delivery

  • Excellent oral communications, bringing thought, vision, and strategy leadership with effective presentation skills

  • Architect level certification from one or more major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP or Azure

  • Experience with delivering architecture using industry methodologies such as TOGAF, FEAF, etc.

  • Application of one or more enterprise architecture modeling tools such as (Sparx EA, Mega, Visual Paradigm, etc.)

  • Additional Certifications: TOGAF 9.1, PMP, CSM, SAFe Agilist

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

  • US Citizens or Green Card Holders required due to federal contract requirements.
