Cloud Architect – Remote

ICF seeks a Cloud Architect that can lead the design and development of modern cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.  You will be the cloud architect on one or more critical projects, setting priorities and direction, mentoring, and designing next generation infrastructure. You will work closely with Developers, DevOps Engineers, Security Engineers, QA Engineers, Data Engineers and others in a highly collaborative environment. This position will have a strong focus on automation and CI/CD principles with a critical emphasis on security protocols (DevSecOps).

The ideal candidate has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the offerings within AWS and Azure with the ability to design entire application environments that can be fully automated or replicated including network, compute, and data stores.

The team uses integrated human-centered design and quality assurance measures to implement highly modern, usable interfaces. Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates high level reference architecture documentation to meet the technology needs of various stakeholders
  • Researches, Designs and implements identity management and federation technologies using SAML, OIDC and OAuth.
  • Designs and implements CI/CD pipelines to include application and security testing and allows for development teams to own the pipeline process from end-to-end
  • Develops tools and processes to enable automated deployment and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and applications
  • Automates images, systems/network configuration and orchestration using tools such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, etc
  • Implements, improves, and augments infrastructure, application and security monitoring tools and overall platform stability
  • Automates data resiliency and replication based on policies
  • Responsible for the management and operation of environments
  • Mentors engineers and peers
  • Participates in the creation of strategic roadmaps by understanding the needs of the business and mapping technical objectives to those needs
  • Works autonomously to build customized solutions to meet the business needs
  • Effectively communicates solutions architecture to management as well as to business stakeholders and the project teams
  • Improves deployment and release management process

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technological or related field with 7+ years of relevant technical experience or an MS in Computer Science and 5+ years of technical experience
  • Significant experience designing, deploying, and supporting production cloud environments, particularly multi-region/multi-AZ environments.
  • Very strong background in Identity and Access Management, including significant experience with Active Directory, LDAP, OIDC, SAML, OAuth and Azure AD.
  • Experience with continuous monitoring and logging of all applications layers and all infrastructure (e.g., New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch)
  • Experience with continuous alerting and notification based on monitors and logs (e.g. PagerDuty)
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies including Docker
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes
  • Experience designing and building self-healing and auto-scaling clusters using robust health-check services and cloud load balancers (e.g. ELB/ALB/ELB, ECS)
  • Automated build, test, and deployment through modern CI/CD
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure-as-code via Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Understanding of configuration-as-code via Ansible
  • Able to communicate the importance of security at rest and in transit via encryption
  • Advanced networking concepts and implementation in AWS and Azure
  • Must live in the United States and be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Federal Government contracting work experience

  • Ability to understand project requirements and be innovative in finding solutions in highly regulated government environments.
  • Flexibility and the ability to accept a change in priorities and responsibilities

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final salary for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The salary range for Colorado is -

$107,354.00-$182,501.00
