Your Role on the Team
ICF is currently undergoing a realignment of its business development enterprise to achieve our ambitious growth targets. This includes a significant change of the capture function across the company. With a redefined capture manager role, a new capture framework, and rolling out new capture tools to support captures, there is an opportunity to help bring a new level of maturity to ICF’s capture function and support adoption and enablement of best capture practices across the business.
As a key member of corporate growth’s enterprise capture team, and working closely with the Team Lead, the Capture Analyst supports ICF’s overall corporate capture function by:
Providing operational support for the cross-group capture team
Facilitating communication with other parts of ICF to support the capture function and/or specific captures (including but not limited to research, Intranet and Web teams, knowledge management, BD Insights, learning and development, capture managers and BD teams at the group level)
Providing operational support to large, cross-group priority initiatives as they emerge. This could include rapid start-up of collaboration and management infrastructure for cross-group initiatives or captures before handing over to a coordinator.
Supporting the creation, curation and dissemination of capture tools across the enterprise.
Aggregating reports and analysis on capture performance and effectiveness. Making recommendations on improvements based on performance data.
Coordinating with the broader internal BD governance approaches, including facilitating or contributing to capture component of broader BD governance.
Win rate percentage is the primary lagging indicator/measure of success, both as a percentage of opportunity value and a percentage of proposals submitted.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of business development experience.
Basic understanding of the role of capture in the business development lifecycle, the capture workstreams, and capture tools and processes.
Organizational and analytical skills to gather performance data and make key recommendations.
Communication skills, including engaging with senior decision makers with clear, actionable requests and expectations.
Program management capabilities, including developing project plans and milestones, tracking and communicating action items, identifying and mitigating effects of roadblocks and dependencies.
Fluency or ability to become fluent in key systems connected to business development and capture at ICF, including but not limited to Dynamics (and plugins), MS Teams, and SharePoint.
Understanding of principles of change management to support broader change management initiatives connected to capture.
Ability to train or mentor junior-level staff in capture and proposal coordination, operations, analysis.
Ability to prioritize effectively in limited time frames; address ad-hoc requests while maintaining focus on longer-term goals.
Proficiency or willingness to gain proficiency with Microsoft tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Teams, Dynamics).
Desire to develop facilitation skills, including facilitating virtual meetings and workshops.
Desire to learn and grow in a BD-focused career.
