Business Management Strategist and Operations Lead - Work from Home

Seeking Business Strategist and Operations Leader for Corporate Enterprise Capture and Proposal Team

How you contribute:

As a member of ICF’s Corporate Growth team, you will use your business management skills to lead a small but mighty operations team to support Corporate Growth. You will report directly to the head of Corporate Growth and, as such, will be the right hand to the leadership team. This multi-faceted role touches a broad range of activities across a large, complex, and highly visible team.    

As the head of business strategy and operations, you will: use your influencing and collaboration skills to make internal processes more efficient, be an active facilitator of working groups that are seeking solutions to their business challenges, and will work directly with the Corporate Growth senior leadership team to help them effectively manage and run their teams. In addition, you will bring your can-do attitude, creativity, and out-of-the-box thinking, and attention to detail to both strategize and implement solutions across the team. Key responsibilities are detailed below. 

  • Project/Program Management

    • Oversee existing processes and programs designed to provide consistency and structure across the team.

    • Collaborate with ICF’s corporate business services (contracts, procurement, recruiting, facilities, etc.) to ensure staff is receiving information and requests in a timely and effective manner.

    • Regularly work with the team leader on various large-scale projects and be responsible for the development and presentation materials to be presented in executive settings.

    • Design and facilitate sessions, meetings, and experiences that support teams across the business development ecosystem more effectively manage projects and drive progress on essential items.

    • Oversee employee recognition program and plan key employee events.

    • Address operational problems as they arise and lead improvement initiatives.

    • Lead change and stakeholder management efforts as appropriate.

  • Communications

    • Engage regularly with business partners across the company. Socialize insights and best practices throughout the organization. Develop and implement processes and best practices to support consistent, data-driven decision-making across Corporate Growth and ICF. 

    • Develop and oversee a teamwide communications strategy for both internal and external (to the team) audiences.

    • Manage communications, including all-staff meetings, emails, employee recognition, team-building communications, and more.

  • Information Management

    • Oversee the creation, development, and management of data dashboards required to achieve day-to-day and quarter-to-quarter operational excellence. Continuously improve data sources, systems, processes, and controls to adapt to evolving business and organizational needs.

  • Training

    • Partner with the Learning & Development team to develop & implement learning moments and full-scale programs designed to upskill the workforce.

Skills, Aptitudes, and Interests:

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across business units by using effective stakeholder management techniques.

  • Strong presentation and speaking skills

  • Strong group facilitation skills (remote and/or in-person) and ability to hold a room with confidence.

  • Energized by engaging with new people and by new projects/subject matter.

  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, disciplined

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, enjoying driving projects through to completion.

  • Collaborative thrives in a nimble, fast-paced, and expansive team, versatile.

  • Professional maturity, especially in the context of complex organizations

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in business management and operations.

  • Passion for driving customer-centered solutions.

  • Experience utilizing methodologies like graphic facilitation, design thinking, and design sprints to design sessions.  Experience with virtual collaborative tools such as Mural or Miro a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint (most recent versions) and a minimal understanding of the web development process required.

  • Outstanding communication with individuals and groups. Demonstrated experience leading change in complex organizations.

  • Virtual and/or in-person group facilitation experience.

  • Project, program, and stakeholder management experience.
