Business Development Research & Competitive Specialist
ICF is seeking a Business Development Research & Competitive Specialist for our Corporate Growth Group. You will perform market research support tasks involving the identification, pursuit and capture of new business in the public, commercial and utility sectors related to ICF strategic markets, business areas and clients in North America & Europe.
Ideally, this position would be based out of our Fairfax, VA office and work a hybrid schedule once we phase our employees back to the office, but we are also open to candidates working remotely from other geographic areas.
Support pipeline development efforts through research conducted throughout the capture process including intelligence gathering involving quantitative and qualitative analyses of market conditions, budgets, competition and opportunities of interest.
Develop and present work products including competitive profiles, market briefings and research findings to senior leadership.
Support capture/pursuit teams for competitive intelligence activities that may include the design, research, and facilitation of competitor strategy sessions such as Black Hats.
Take on specific ad-hoc research, capture or strategic initiative projects as requested.
Minimum 2 years’ experience with 3-5 years preferred of combined experience in the public sector, commercial or utilities markets with any of the following: market research, competitive analysis, bid positioning, capture strategy or business development.
Experience with data sources and tools such as FPDS & Govwin.
Commercial and utility experience a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams with advanced knowledge of Excel.
Flexibility in taking on a wide range of tasks against challenging deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communicator.
Ability to analyze information and make sound observations and recommendations quickly.
A team player with strong interpersonal skills and an outstanding ability to work with people at all levels, including senior executives.
