ICF is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to support citizen-facing digital solutions for a variety of Federal clients. The Business Analyst is responsible for learning business processes and functions to help with the design, configuration, testing, documentation, and user support of digital solutions. This role requires a combination of understanding and capturing the requirements of digital solutions and validating the implementation of those requirements through testing. The Business Analyst has a strong understanding of industry trends and using Agile methodologies for analysis and testing. The candidate will work collaboratively with the team to incorporate testing as part of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) activities. This position requires an awareness of the need for timely communication, the ability to identify potential barriers and strategies, and the ability to synthesize and integrate information.
This role can be remote, however, we would like to hire someone on the east coast who can easily travel to the Washington DC Metro area for meetings approximately 4 times a year.
What you’ll be doing:
Support all aspects of the software development cycle including requirements, design, testing, and delivery
Work with stakeholders of IT systems to define the system requirements and design approach
Develop an understanding of the client processes and procedures and assist with making improvements relative to technology
Work with a team of senior technologists and to deliver solutions for clients
Capture and express requirements with a variety of techniques including BDD-style specifications, user stories, workflow diagrams, UML diagrams, user cases and mockups.
Perform various types of testing, define test scenarios and test cases, execute tests, and document test results. Perform cross-browser desktop and mobile testing.
Participate in and lead sprint meetings and work with the project team to identify risks/impacts on the project.
Coordinate and collaborate with subject matter experts, designers, and user experience researchers in an agile environment to move the project forward.
What you must have:
Bachelor's degree in a Business or Data related field or STEM
8 or more years of experience in business analysis for candidates not having a bachelors degree, 5 for those with a bachelors
3 or more years of experience working with Agile.
3 or more years experience working in roles that demonstrate strong analytical skills
3 or more years experience in the development of standard system documentation, testing software, tracking issues and working with developers to ensure that requirements are being met, as well as requirements gathering and facilitation experience
3 or more years experience in the development of standard documentation – requirements specifications, use cases, design specifications, test plans and test scripts and other supporting system documentation
3 or more years working directly with clients demonstrating the ability to understand clients’ business and apply analytical skills to help solve problems they face.
Scrum Master certification is a plus.
